Rum Distilleries Tours

The agricultural rum from Martinique is made from raw sugar cane, and is the only rum in the world with a "Controlled Appellation". The rum is called Rhum Agricole (Argricultural Rum) which is a technique that is only used by Martinique and Guadeloupe / The French West Indies, which is known for its highest  quality - not only in the caribbean but in the whole world! No less than seven distilleries contribute to the conversion of this famous drink. The most famous are the Saint-James rum, the rum Clément, the Depaz rum but also the Trois-Rivières rum.

Martinique rum is mainly consumed as an aperitif. From February to June, when the cane is harvested, you can see the distilleries on the island in operation. A perfect opportunity to discover the different stages of manufacturing Martinique rum!
