Born in 1980 in Hamburg, he now lives and works in Berlin, DE and New York.
Roman Liska had solo exhibitions all around the world: Art LA Contemporary in L.A ; Ultramarine, Mallorca Landing, in Palma de Mallorca ; RESEARCH 'N MOTION, in Berlin ; Brace, Brace!, IMO Projects, in Copenhagen ; NU BALANCE, in London… And more.

This German artist re-defines and expands the parameters for what can be thought of as painting. He deals with painting as language without being closely tied to the traditional ideas of the medium.

Contemporary art space 14 ° N 61 ° W has invited us to discover the exhibition "Kissing with confidence" by Roman Liska and you should be prepared to be dazzled.

Why do Deux Noix de Coco think you should have a look?

A. The body of work was conceived specifically for the exhibition "Kissing with Confidence" in Fort de France, Martinique.

B. The palette is tropical, and the organic grid pattern variations are reminiscent of the psychedelic strain of Op art in the late 1960's and 70's.

The pieces give the impression of movement, shine of light and vibration. These visual solicitations place the body of the spectator in an unstable but pleasant situation, plunged into a feeling of vertigo close to certain states of light intoxication… You’d better be soft on Rum!
