Madinina

Atlantic coast

Here we are again… Madinina, the flower island is welcoming us with its sweet sun heating our cold (winter) skins… Thank you!

Our beautiful island is full of wonders for all tastes and desires and we still have a lot to show you, starting with a tour to the North from Fort de France to the Presqu'île de La Caravelle.

Unesco

Arriving on the Natural reserve of “Presqu’île de la Caravelle”,  you can choose between 4 different nature trails through the Tropical dry forest with breathtaking views (from 1hour walk to a 3.30h hike). Martinique is one of 35 global biodiversity hotspots with a Regional Nature Park occupying 2/3 of its territory!
For sure you will have a memorable experience.

Hey! And did you know? The Flower Island is committed to UNESCO World Heritage designation for its volcanic and forest areas!

Landscapes of wild meadows, dry and tropical forest, mangrove, savannah, sheltered beaches and steep cliffs, the Presqu’il de la Caravelle reserve shelters a remarkable biodiversity. Over 150 different species of flora and dozens of different bird species characteristic for the region.

Located on the spectacular rocky hillside of Martinque, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, it offers one of the most beautiful and diverse hiking spots on the island.

But how can we be in the Carribeans without talking about rum?

La Tartane - the only village on the peninsula - where every morning fishermen sell their catch - also home of the hardly smallest rum factory in La Caravelle, nestled right by the sea side. However, The old distillery Gaston Hardy can not be visited anymore. The rum is now distilled at the Saint James factory in Sainte Marie, retaining its original character.

La Brêche Beach

After passing the village of Tartane, quick after the village of La Trinité and its islet, we come across a small treasure. A beautiful beach of fine sand and clear waters... A blue and calm sea ideal for swimming after a long day of hiking!

The beach of the Brêche is the first in Martinique to have received the label "tourism and disability"! Thus you will find a deck, facilitating access to wheelchairs, pic nic tables and easy to access the beach and shore.

We are loving it!
Get moving!

Ho! And Happy New year!!!!! :-)
